Storage Tips

What Do I Look For When Choosing A Storage Facility?

•  Surveillance cameras on the property
•  Property should be completely fenced with a unique access code entry
•  Well lighted
•  Manager on-site

What Size Storage Unit Do I Need?

1. Compile a list of items that you plan on storing

2. Organize them by groups, e.g. boxed items, items used frequently, weight etc.

3. Note how these items should be stored. E.g. stored by size uniformity, and how many boxes should be stacked at a time.

How Do I Store Appliances And Furniture?

Fridges and freezers should be emptied and dried thoroughly. The door should be left open slightly. Items can be stored within larger appliances, and boxes on top of stoves, refrigerators and freezers. Be sure stoves and cookware are cleaned before being stored.

Furniture: Break down beds and tables. Wrap legs in paper. Tables that cannot disassemble can be placed with their legs up on a padded or paper-covered floor. Do not put upholstery on the floor. Stack lightweight chairs, one of top each other or upside down on tables that cannot disassemble. Sofas and mattresses should be placed on cardboard mats or plastic on the ground. Cover all furniture with a light dust cover.
